Wednesday Confessions!

Trying real hard to get this one written and posted on Wednesday this week. Seems like it has been hard to find time to sit down.

I confess…

-one-
Going Live on Facebook makes me want to puke. Maybe you knew this about me, maybe you didn't…
In college I graduated with a degree in Communications. I wanted to work in sports broadcasting. I did internships in Philadelphia with television stations and covered major sports teams. I laugh now because FB Live makes my stomach turn-- I would have be a stress bucket had I decided to really pursue that career. Now you know!

-two-
I have lost all control and hope [in myself] when I have given up and allowed him to mix all the play dough colors. Oh well. One less thing to worry about! Luckily, you can't see the playroom floor in this picture. McKenna choice of play… walk around the room and dump the bins out.

-three-
Reigniting my passion for health and fitness has been just a breath of fresh air. Not that it went away completely but it was pushed aside when babies, nursing, sleepless nights, diapers, poops, feeding etc etc etc took over.
I am not one of the girls that fit back into her pre-pregnancy jeans 3 months later. In fact, I am not sure when I will fit back into them, but I will. It is taking hard work. Dedication. Consistency. Healthy eating. Exercise.
Just a reminder that fat takes up so much more room then the muscle. And muscle burns fat!

And for heavens sake, DRINK WATER!

Meal Planning Monday

Happy Monday party people!

Crazy few weeks. I was solo while Dan went to North Carolina and picked up Ghost. My days were spent just surviving! Which sadly meant most of everything else faded away…I washed, dried, folded and put away 5 loads of laundry in the last 24 hours. Lord, have mercy!

We've got our new family member, Hub's K-9 partner, Ghost. We are so happy that this position opened up and that Dan was chosen. Police work is rough these days and this position is breathing a breath of fresh air!

With the changed in position comes a change in work schedule and he will be home in the evenings for the next few months! Yay! Also means I can be more deliberate in meals knowing I will have someone here to help while I cook.

So here is the plan for this week!

Monday: Homemade waffles, quiche and fruit salad

I have loved her other recipes I've tried. So excited to dive into this one!

Wednesday: Grilled Turkey Burgers, Baked Garlic Green Beans and Smashed Potatoes

Thursday: Steak Salad

Friday: Healthy Baked Chicken Parm with Roasted Veggies

Sunday: Homemade Pizza and Salad

Yum, my mouth is watering looking at this delicious food.

In 2 weeks we will be having a 7 Day Challenge where you can try Slim (pink drink) and utilize a community of support and encouragement! It is a perfect way to get a taste (pun intended)! Enter my giveaway on Facebook today to get the 7 days worth at my price (wholesale)! It could change your world- it has changed mine!

Enjoy your Monday and take care of yourself…spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally!

Wednesday Confessions #5..on Friday

Happy Friday!! Bringing you my Wednesday confessions late because I have been super busy! Can't wait to share what the busyness is from!

I confess…

-ONE-
My daughter is making me crazy. She can climb almost anything. She is into everything. She loves to play in the toilet. She thinks running into the street is a game. I could go on and on but she is NUTS. Mommy is being put to the test!

-TWO-
I have serious goals. Since having kids, I have not felt like myself. I needed a kick in the pants and some help to get myself feeling good again. Since Austins surgery, we haven't been going to the gym because I don't want to leave him. So its been daily walk/runs. The kids always want to get out and join me. It warms this fitness mommas heart to see them being active!

-THREE-
Busy weekend ahead. Yard sale Saturday! I am having a blast getting rid of crap around the house! Ready for the space to be cleared. If you're local…come say hi!

-FOUR-
Anyone else into This Is Us as much as me? I love that show and enjoy so much looking forward to a good show to watch. They are dragging the "how does Jack die" out a little to long for my liking. Soon people, tell us soon!

-FIVE-
TGIF!!!

Meal Planning Monday

This surgery recovery has been quite a ride of ups and downs. Saturday night Austin woke up and worked himself up so much that he threw up. We, at the time, didn't know if it was the stomach flu or what not. He shook uncontrollably - it was scary. Finally, got him back to bed, in bed with us and the poor boy moaned all night.
I took to Dr. Google to find out that other kids have had major issues sleeping after a tonsillectomy - much due to night terrors. (We weren't prepared for it.) So Sunday night was a bit of the same again. Needless to say…mommy and daddy haven't been sleeping well and we are super tired people.

I rallied and tied up my sneakers and made myself go to the gym. The workout wasn't the greatest but it happened and provided me a bit more energy to get through the morning.
I am taking the Plexus TriPlex products and I want to just share them [how they are helping me and could help you] with everyone I know. I feel like I've been let in on a secret, one that I was MORE then skeptical about, and I want to share with the people I love the most. I have also had to swallow a huge humble pill in regards to the business side but I am getting over myself and trying to share it with those I care about.

Here's what I have going on this week for meals. To put it simply…I have had no time to plan and I am doing a fast trip to the store to pick up essentials. Other then that, this week is coming to you from eating the foods in the refrigerator and freezer!

Monday: Chicken Paninis
Do you have a panini press? If not, here is one similar to ours. We LOVE it!

Tuesday: Kale White Bean Sausage Soup

Wednesday: Breakfast for Dinner

Thursday: Burgers & Roasted Broccoli

Friday: Grilled Chicken Salad

Saturday: Steak, Baked Potatoes and Fresh Green Beans

Sunday: Homemade Pizza and Garden Salad

Maybe next week I will have time to plan and become creative!

Surgery and beyond

Well Austin's surgery is in the books and we are super happy to have it behind us.

Hubs, Austin and I woke up very early Thursday morning and headed to AI Children's Hospital. We were blessed to have my mom who spent the night to stay with McKenna.

Once at the hospital, we went to the surgery area and started our check in process. Austin got his ID bracelets and ID # (so we could know where he was in the process they assign a number and then update on tv screens) so did Mickey Mouse who he chose to bring from home.

From there a super nice nurse took us back to pre-op where he had his check up and they determined that he was healthy for surgery! He got into his gown and got his special socks. We had a run down with both the ENT doctor and Ophthalmologist regarding each procedure. Then, met with the anestheiologist and discussed the anesthesia aspect. I have to say that this hospital has the best of the best! I am so thankful that we live close by and have these top notch doctors available for our kids.
Austin then got a spray up his nose of some "funny gas"(best way to put it). In about 2-3 minutes, he was feeling good and relaxing some. He definitely got really, really nervous during the process. It broke my heart.

It was after this point, that he got wheeled back to the OR. We took a minute to gather ourselves and geared up for the wait. It was amazing how quickly the ENT doctor finished his part, he came out and let us know that everything went perfectly and that Austin's tonsils and adenoids were "quite enlarged". Hubs and I headed down to the cafeteria to grab a bite to eat because we knew the eye surgery part would be a longer wait.

After what seemed like hours, we saw the eye doctor come out! I think my sigh of relief could be felt on the other side of the hospital. She told us he did awesome, gave us the details for recovering and that we would be able to see him in about 10 minutes.
I didn't take any post-op pictures because he was in rough shape. He slept most of the time and when the anesthesia wore off enough, he had his gatorade (his favorite) and an Icee. He didn't have any nausea and we were checked out and on our way home by 11:30am. We couldn't believe how fast it was.

It has been a VERY long few days and nights. He has been on a rotation of tylenol and motrin but not sleeping well. My momma heart tells me that the experience of being put to sleep has messed with him feeling comfortable going to sleep. He really just wants to be with us. We are okay with it…for now.
He has been keeping to soft foods and lots of juice. Kids are so resilient and quick healers we are excited to see how having these procedures completed will help Austin in daily life.

McKenna has definitely felt the small changes. She was left with my mom, then my mother-in-law and our daily routines have been destroyed. I took her to the gym (which we do almost daily) and she cried so much they had to come get me…never has happened before. I can just attribute that to her being sensitive to all that has happened.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! We are happy to have it all behind us!
