This is so late...
For McKenna's 1st birthday, I wanted a theme that was fitting for her. She is a ray of sunshine...her smile lights up the room (and her dimples). So this was the perfect theme to go with. Ideas on Pinterest didn't disappoint, although, my parties never seem pinterest worthy. Here are a few things we did decoration wise.
Sunshine pictures for each month, in the center is her handprint. |
Her birthday cake done by Bings Bakery on Main St. in Newark. (We have had all our celebration cakes done by them and we are always thrilled with the way they turn out.)
Lots of bright pink and yellow...flowers and patterned fabrics all from JoAnns.
Digging into her cake! She was a bit unsure and didn't devour it as we had anticipated. However, the day after her party we gave her some left overs and that cake was in her ears and nose!
More fabrics and pinks/yellows!
Love this poster I ordered off Etsy. I had made one for Austin's 1st Birthday and knew I wouldn't have the time this go-around. So I ordered from this lovely shop and she did an excellent job. Had it printed at Walmart.
First birthdays are hard. They never will remember them, but getting through the first year is well worth celebration. Loved the fabrics the most from our decorations and LOVED how McKenna adored when everyone sang to her. She sure doesn't mind being the center of attention!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!
